Authentic Reading Restaurant Featured On TV Show
A local favorite is getting some attention for serving up "hearty staples" that harken back to the owner's roots.
READING, MA — A local establishment was recently featured on "Phantom Gourmet." Bunratty Tavern made an appearance, receiving praise of the Irish comfort food it serves.
"From the moment you step inside Bunratty Tavern, you’re transported to the Emerald Isle. The kitchen serves up hearty staples like shepherd’s pie and fish and chips, harkening back to owner Eilish Havey’s Irish roots," Phantom Gourmet writes.
"The menu at Bunratty Tavern is filled with traditional American dishes, plus, of course, authentic Irish pub fare made from family recipes that have been handed down for generations."

They recommend the Bunratty spring rolls, which are "like having a complete corned beef dinner stuffed inside a crispy, crunchy shell," as well as the loaded shepherd's pie potato skins, buffalo chicken flatbread, and more.
The Phantom Gourmet features establishments from around the region and airs Saturday and Sunday at 10 and 11 a.m. on TV38.

Bunratty Tavern is located at 620 Main St. and has a large, ornate bar, lively Irish music, the comfort foods of Ireland, and "a staff who are welcoming and eager to allow you to unwind, relax and meet new friends," according to its website.
