Brockton Resident Arrested for Driving With Suspended License in Reading

The following is an excerpt from the log from Friday through Monday. The information is open to the public.
Arrests
At 3:16 p.m. on Friday, as the result of a motor vehicle stop, Manuel Caguana, 22, of 2 Huntington St., Brockton, was arrested on John Street for the unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

Friday, May 11
- At 12:15 a.m., an officer summonsed a man for operating a motor vehicle after his license was revoked on Haven Street.
- 8:41 a.m., a Winthrop Avenue resident reported that a bottle of vicodin was taken from his residence. He believes it may have been landscapers who were working at his house on Monday.
- At 10:46 a.m., a Lakeview Avenue resident reported that someone attempted to steal his license plate overnight. The license plate is now bent.
- At 11:11 a.m., a caller reported a car accident on Lowell Street. One person was trapped and police were able to free her. She was transported to the hospital.
- At 11:37 a.m., a woman was summonsed for failure to file an annual report of guardianship on Green Street.
- At 3:37 p.m., a Colburn Road resident reported that his neighbor took down his fence.
- At 4:01 p.m., an Elderberry Lane resident reported that a package that was sent to her was tampered with. She believes her neighbors were tampering with the package. Nothing was missing.
- At 4:43 p.m., a caller reported that a passing vehicle struck and damaged his parked car, and did not stop.
- At 6:18 p.m., a Pearl Street resident reported that her driveway was damaged from road work. Part of the driveway was torn up and a drop off was created, which caused her to damage her vehicle when backing out.
- At 6:30 p.m., a caller reported a car accident on West Street. No injuries were reported.
- At 9:11 p.m., a caller reported suspicious activity in a motor vehicle parked on Harrison Street. Police investigated and found three youths in the car with alcohol. Their parents were called and each youth was asked to take a PBT or field sobriety test. The youths were released to parents and the alcohol was seized.

- At 10:57 p.m., a caller reported a car accident on Main Street. No injuries were reported.
- At 12:03 p.m., a caller reported a car accident on Howard Street. No injuries were reported.
- At 1:13 p.m., a male walked into the lobby of the police station and reported identity theft.
- At 10:17 p.m., a caller reported a male was stumbling before entering his motor vehicle and then had trouble getting the car into gear on Francis Drive. The car then sped off toward Haverhill Street. The caller also reported a small gathering on Francis Drive, but the parents were home and no alcohol was in sight. However, the caller saw two females left the house intoxicated. Police spoke with the parents of the kids having the party and advised them of the complaint.
- At 11:41 p.m., a caller reported a loud house party on Franklin Street. Police spoke with the people having the party and they agreed to quiet it down for the night.
Sunday, May 13
- At 12:42 a.m., a Summer Avenue resident reported a youth lying on a lawn, possibly intoxicated. When the youth saw police, he ran. Police were unable to locate the him.
- At 1:03 a.m., an Archstone Circle resident reported a loud party in the apartment above them. Police spoke to the people throwing the party who agreed to be quiet.
- At 3:53 a.m., an officer noticed a window at the was cracked.
- At 4:03 a.m., a caller reported that her sister jumped from her car. Police found the 25-year-old Reading resident and held her in protective custody.
- At 12:34 p.m., a Van Norden Road resident reported a past larceny of an infant car seat. The car seat was taken from her front porch.
- At 12:50 p.m., a caller reported she left her pocketbook in a carriage on Walkers Brook Drive. The pocketbook was picked up by someone else and not turned in.
- At 2:21 p.m., a caller reported a car accident on Salem Street. No injuries were reported.
- At 5:57 p.m., a Haven Street resident reported that youths threw fireworks on her porch. The youth's parents were notified and drove the youths to the Haven Street residence to apologize.
- At 6:58 p.m., a caller reported that his car was hit while in a parking lot on Walkers Brook Drive.
Monday, May 14
- At 11:05 a.m., a Winthrop Avenue resident reported that a bottle of vicodin was taken from his medicine cabinet.
- At 3:52 p.m., a Temple Street resident reported an email scam.
- At 4:55 p.m., an Elderberry Lane resident reported a possible phone scam.
- At 5:53 p.m., a caller reported a car accident on Main Street. No injuries were reported.
