Child Left Unattended in Running Vehicle at Walmart

The following is a look at some of the calls handled by the from Wednesday through Thursday. The information is open to the public.
Wednesday, April 4
- At 1:44 p.m., a Lowell Road resident reported that her neighbor is harrassing her despite a current prevention order that is in place.
- At 7:20 p.m., a caller reported a possible fire between two sheds on Lowell Road. An officer put the fire out with the fire extinguisher in his cruiser.
- At 8:30 p.m., a caller reported a possible Craigslist scam. The caller put an item for sale on Craigslist and the buyer sent her a check for $3,000 more than the price they agreed upon. The buyer said it was a mistake, and asked her to send the extra money back to her via Western Union. She thought this was strange so reported it. The information was logged and sent to the detective unit for a follow up.

- At 12:10 a.m., a caller reported a noise complaint on Main Street. The caller stated that loud noise was coming from New England Carpet Master. Police investigated and found that the noise was minimal and the employees at New England Carpet Master had just returned from a job and were cleaning up. The caller was told to notify the building inspector of the complaint.
- At 8:17 a.m., a caller reported an erratic driver on Main Street. Half-way through the call, the line went dead. Police were unable to locate the vehicle.
- At 2:20 p.m., a caller reported an erratic operator on Haverhill Street. The caller stated that the vehicle was driving closely behind her and beeping, then backing off. Police were able to stop the vehicle.
- At 2:28 p.m., an officer working on a detail on Central Street reported that a car sped by and refused to stop for him. Police were unable to locate the vehicle.
- At 3:21 p.m., a caller reported a road rage incident on Concord Street.
- At 3:53 p.m., a caller reported fraud by check on his brother's account who is in a nursing home. Police are investigating.
- At 6:22 p.m., a caller reported a child sleeping in a running vehicle alone in the parking lot. An officer checked on the child and filed a 51A report with the Department of Children and Families.
