COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic Planned In Reading

The clinic will offer primary series and booster doses of both the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines.

READING, MA — Those still needing COVID-19 vaccines still have a chance to get them at a clinic in Reading on Thursday afternoon.

The clinic will take place on Thursday from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Reading Memorial High School cafeteria at 62 Oakland Road in Reading. It will offer both initial series and booster doses of Pfizer and Moderna vaccines.

Individuals looking to receive a vaccine should preregister here.

Pfizer shots as this week's clinic are available to anyone over the age of three, while Moderna vaccines are limited to individuals ages 18 and up. The CDC has recommended primary series vaccines for everyone ages six months and older. It then recommends boosters for everyone ages five and up.

The state Department of Public Health previously announced a larger schedule of back-to-school COVID-19 vaccine clinics. Those clinics are ongoing at locations across the state.

"Children who are fully vaccinated are less likely to get severely sick or spread the virus that causes COVID-19," the DPH said in its back-to-school program announcement earlier this month. "Being fully vaccinated can also help your kids stay in school, help keep child care programs open, and help prevent a family member needing to miss work to care for them."
