Event of the Week: Arts in the Park in North Reading

Stop by the craft fair at Ipswich River Park.

will be filled with arts, crafts and more on May 19. Stop by between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. to browse through the local handmade arts and crafts, enjoy the entertainment and eat barbecue food.

There will be a variety of products available from a minimum of 57 different crafters. You can expect to find painted wooden items, hair accesories, flameless candles, stained glass, jewelry, handbags, dog and cat items, t-shirts, sewn items, paper goods and more.

According to the Parks and Recreation Department there will be a lot of entertainment including a performance from a local dance school, fingerprinting for children and henna tattooing.

"It's a great time every year, lots of people come out and enjoy the day," President of the Friends of North Reading Parks and Recreation Sheila Sturdevant said. "It grows a little bit each year."

The proceeds from the event benefit Ipswich River Park. The rain date is May 20.
