Buy local weekend, live music and a town wide yard sale are all on tap this weekend.

Looking for something to do this weekend? Here are some ideas:


Where/when: Various local shops, all weekend 
Why go: The Buy Local Weekend Spring 2012 is sponsored by the  and there are several benefits of shopping local including investing in your community (for every $100 spent locally, $68 stays in the local economy) and most stores will have sales this weekend.

Where/when: North Reading, Saturday, all day
Why go: Pick up a map and shop for treasures around town and at . There are 68 sites, plus 8 vendors at Town Hall. Maps will be available at: , Town Hall, the , the , , , and . Follow the bright pink signs to yard sale locations. There will also be a raffle of gift cards for local businesses at Town Hall.

Where/when: , Friday at 8 p.m.  
Why go: Enjoy live music by the band Coffee House. Coffee and food will be available. 


Where/when: , Sunday at 1 p.m.  
Why go: The RMHS Improv Troupe, Improvosaurus, is performing and all profits are going to the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America. Tickets are $10 for adults, $6 for kids and students.

Why go: Celebrate Arbor Day with the North Reading Garden Club. Meet at the gazebo at Ipswich River Park. From there, walk to a tree the Garden Club has donated to the Town of North Reading in celebration of Arbor Day. Learn more about the day and hear poetry honoring the beauty of trees and natural places.
