Follow Up: Police Issue Citation for Marijuana in Stop and Shop Lot

A more detailed report on the December 2 police log.

More is now known about a Dec. 2 police incident in the Stop and Shop parking lot.

North Reading Patch asked for more information regarding the incident where marijuana was confiscated. 

In the , police said that at 7:10 p.m., an officer saw several workers in their cars in the  parking lot. After the workers vacated the cars and went into the store, the officer could see and smell marijuana. Police confiscated the marijuana, according to the police report.

On Thursday police told North Reading Patch, on Dec. 1, after the officer observed several workers in the Stop and Shop parking lot and saw and smelled marijuana, the officer went into the grocery store and asked the manager to speak with the employee who owned the vehicle, police said.

The employee accompanied the officer to the vehicle and the employee, according to police, voluntarily turned over the marijuana and paraphernalia. The employee was then issued a civil citation, police said.
