Reading Offers Curbside, Drop-Off Christmas Tree Recycling Options

The town is offering options for residents seeking to dispose of their Christmas trees this month.

READING, MA — Reading residents have two options to recycle their Christmas trees later this month, according to town officials.

Republic Services will collect Christmas trees and leaves curbside during the week of Jan. 12–16. Trees must be free of all decorations, tinsel and plastic bags to be collected, the town said.

Residents may also drop off Christmas trees at the Reading Compost Center on Strout Avenue on Saturday, Jan. 17, from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Town officials said trees brought to the compost center must also be free of decorations and plastic.
