Letter to the Editor: Ragucci Expresses Concern Regarding Foti's Missing Campaign Signs
Joe Foti's campaign signs were stolen over the weekend, and Campaign Manager Vincent Ragucci asks that they be returned.

Dear Editor,
I have been involved in politics for 26 years and held an elected position as City Councilor for 10 years as well. I have a strong appreciation for how much effort, time, and money are invested in a campaign. Unless you don’t drive in North Reading you have seen the over 150 “Elect Joe Foti Selectman” campaign signs throughout the town. With only two weeks before the May 8th election, person(s) unknown thought it would be funny to steal over 80 of Joe’s campaign signs from all over town. This is NOT a joke. This is NOT a game. Campaign signs are a key part of the election process and are very expensive. Each sign represents a campaign donation granted with someone’s hard earned money or the candidate’s personal finances.
It’s hard enough to get strong candidates with experience and integrity to run for public office. Now that our town has a strong and experienced candidate in Joe; he is not being given the courtesy and respect he deserves. I am asking those who performed this malicious act to do the right thing and return the signs immediately. Place them at a visible location so they can be easily found. Each candidate deserves a fair opportunity to compete for a seat on the Board of Selectman in our town.

I love this town, and I know that Joe and his family do as well. What makes North Reading the greatest community in the Commonwealth is our residents and business community. This unethical and childish act does not represent who we are as a town. Please join me in making sure each candidate is given the same respect to campaign fairly and honestly without the need for childish acts like this.
Respectfully Submitted,
