New Wood End Principal Announced
The position of principal at the Wood End School has been filled.

The Reading Public Schools announced Thursday that Joanne King was selected to be the new principal of the . King was part of a six week search process involving interviews and community and staff meetings.
King was previously a fifth grade teacher at the Wood End School. She said she was interested in becoming a principal when she went into teaching, but wanted to spend time in a classroom first. She has been teaching in Reading for 10 years.
According to Superintendent John Doherty, King has been involved both as a student and instructor in the National Institute for School Leadership program and has performed over 300 hours of practicum work at both the district and school level for her administrator licensure.

King was , but 34 people originally applied for the job.
Current has been in his position for seven years, and will retire at the end of the school year.
