Wakefield Resident Arrested for Two Warrants in Reading

The following is an excerpt from the  log from Friday through Monday. The information is open to the public.

Arrests

At 2:13 p.m. Monday, Sara Meuse, 19, of 7 Esmond Ave., in Wakefield, was arrested for two warrants on Main Street. One warrant was for the possession of Class B and E substances and the other was for receiving stolen property under $250.

Friday, March 30

  • At 1:39 p.m., a caller reported a suspicious person on Walkers Brook Drive selling electronics out of the back of his van. The van was gone when police arrived.
  • At 2:10 p.m., a caller reported a hit and run car accident. His car was hit while he was in Home Depot and the driver's side door was damaged. 
  • At 2:15 p.m., a caller reported that a man tried to ruin a political sign with water on Haven Street. There was no damage to the sign. Police spoke to the man and told him to stop interferring with legal political signs.
  • At 3:14 p.m., a caller reported that a man knocked on his door and asked if he could use his computer. The man then walked up Main Street and went door to door. Police investigated and found that the man worked for Verizon. They informed him that he had to register before soliciting.
  • At 5:39 p.m., a caller reported a suspicious vehicle on Haystack Road. Police investigated and found that the man in the vehicle worked for Federal Heating and was early for an appointment.
  • At 6:51 p.m., a caller reported that she was locked out of her car and her child was locked inside on Salem Street. The was able to get into the car.
  • At 7:29 p.m., a caller reported a suspicious vehicle on High Street picking up scrap metal. Police did not find a vehicle matching the description.
  • At 8:15 p.m., a caller reported that youths were ringing her doorbell, but had left the area. 
  • At 10:22 p.m., a caller reported multiple vehicles on Beaver Road near Latham Lane and youths walking down the street. Upon arrival, an officer noticed several empty beer cans and bottles discarded under a Jeep on the side of the road. A youth party was discovered on Latham Lane and broken up by the homeowner. All youths involved were questioned and checked for alcohol. One 16-year-old Reading teen was held in protective custody, then released to his mother.

  • At 10:54 a.m., a caller reported a 3- and 8-year-old child left unattended in an unlocked, running vehicle.
  • At 6:26 p.m., a Putnam Road resident reported receiving an application for an unsolicited credit card, which was red flagged by an online credit protection agency.
  • At 8:55 p.m., a motor vehicle was stopped on Bolton Street and drug paraphernalia was confiscated from the driver after a consented search.
  • At 10:41 p.m., a caller reported youths gathering on Walkers Brook Drive. Police investigated, but did not find any youths in the area.
  • At 11:14 p.m., a caller reported that she was locked out of her car on Track Road and her 18-month-old was locked inside. Police were able to get into the car.

Sunday, April 1

  • At 12:00 a.m., a caller reported a suspicious male roaming the Haven Street area. Police were unable to locate the man.
  • At 1:10 a.m., an officer reported new graffiti on the back of the .
  • At 1:26 a.m., after a traffic stop a 21-year-old North Reading resident was summonsed for operating a motor vehicle after her license was suspended.
  • At 5:06 p.m., a car accident was reported on Main Street. No injuries were reported. 
  • At 6:12 p.m., a 37-year-old Marblehead resident was summonsed for illegal possession of a Class E substance after a consented search of her vehicle.

Monday, April 2

  • At 3:55 p.m., a caller reported a hit and run. His motorcycle was hit on Summit Drive and the front bumper was damaged.
