Penny Lane Is In Reading's Ears
The Community Planning and Development Commission reviewed a proposal this week for a subdivision on a new private way called Penny Lane.
READING, MA — A proposal for a four-lot subdivision at 4 Cold Spring Road went before the Community Planning and Development Commission Jan. 11. The plan calls for extending Grand View Drive to a new, 25 foot-wide private way that would be called Penny Lane.
An existing home would join the subdivision, and three new house lots would be created. Some changes were made to the original proposal, including increasing the size of the stormwater drainage system, replanting maple trees on town-owned property and enacting no parking on the west side of the street, project engineer Giovanni Fodera said.
There was some discussion over whether the name Penny Lane would be approved. That process includes ensuring the name does not cause confusion for first responders.
