Reading Memorial High School is celebrating the success of its student internship program.

READING, MA — Reading Memorial High School is celebrating the success of its student internship program, which provided more than 100 hours of hands-on experience to participating students during the 2024–2025 school year.

The program paired students with local businesses, nonprofits, and community organizations to help them build essential life and career skills.

According to school data, 94% of students rated their experience a 9 or 10 out of 10, and 95% said the program helped prepare them for life after graduation. Nearly all participants—97%—said real-world learning is essential to student success.

Mentors also praised the interns. “She seamlessly collaborated with our team. At a very young age, she demonstrated the highest character and maturity,” one mentor said.

RMHS ended the year by hosting a public event where students shared reflections and visual portfolios. Many received job offers or took on leadership roles through the program.

RMHS is now looking ahead to spring 2026 and inviting local business owners and professionals to sign up to host student interns.

"Whether you're in healthcare, finance, education, technology, public service, or any other sector, your mentorship can make a lasting difference in a student's life—and provide your team with fresh ideas and valuable contributions," according to a statement.
