Reading Launches Monthly Blood Pressure Screenings

READING, MA — Reading community members will have a chance to receive a free blood pressure screening beginning next month at a series of new blood pressure clinics at the Reading Public Library.

The first event is scheduled for Dec. 12 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Clinics will continue to run every second Monday of the month going forward.

The Reading Health Department is organizing these clinics.

Screenings are open to all with no appointment needed, as noted in an event announcement from the town on Tuesday.

Health agencies including the Reading Health Department recommend individuals regularly measure their blood pressure to help diagnose any relevant health issues quickly.

Blood pressure can be managed through various measures if it is too high, the department notes on its website.
