Reading Police Department Reaches Out Through Twitter

The Reading Police Department now has a Twitter page you can follow.

The official Twitter page of the Reading Police Department is now up and running. To follow the department, log on to Twitter, enter Reading Police, and click “follow”.

Visit the Reading Police website to sign up for the Reading Community Alerts (RCASA) Program to receive public safety email, text and telephone alerts.

The Reading Police also partners with the Reading Coalition Against Substance Abuse (RCASA) on three important outreach programs including:

1. Rx Round Up Program: Reading Police will accept your unwanted prescription medications and liquids. Over the counter medications in pill form are also accepted.

How it works

Bring your Rx meds into the lobby at 15 Union St., Reading, Place in designated bag, Insert in the drop box.

2. Text a Tip Program: Anyone with a cell phone can now send an anonymous tip to Reading Police Department by texting the word READINGPD and the tip information to 847411 (tip411). Anonymous web tips can also be submitted through the web tip form.

3. RCASA Resources: Learn more about resources for substance abuse prevention and treatment online.
