Man Summonsed for Attempting to Sell Drugs in School Zone

The following is an excerpt from the  log from Friday through Monday. The information is open to the public.

Friday, April 6

  • At 7:46 a.m., a caller reported an erratic operator on Summer Avenue.
  • At 10:05 a.m., a caller reported a car accident on Haverhill Street. No injuries were reported. 
  • At 3:27 p.m., a caller reported a man selling items out of the back of his car on Walkers Brook Drive. Police investigated and found that the man had a MA Peddler's license; however, he was told that he needed a permit to sell items in Reading. 
  • At 4:20 p.m., a caller reported that an iPhone was stolen from the boys locker room at the .
  • At 4:41 p.m., a caller reported a car accident on Walkers Brook Drive. No injuries were reported.
  • At 6:09 p.m., a man was summonsed on Edgemont Avenue for possession of a Class D substance with the intent to distribute in a school zone.
  • At 6:23 p.m., a caller reported a hit and run. His car was hit while parked on Walkers Brook Drive. The damage was minor.

  • At 8:31 a.m., a High Street resident reported people banging on her door. Police reported to the scene, and found that a tenant was trying to get some of her items. She retrieved the items and went on her way.
  • At 1:10 p.m., a caller reported two needles found on the sidewalk of Salem Street. Police retrieved the items.
  • At 2:47 p.m., a caller reported that the rear window of his vehicle was shot with a BB gun.
  • At 7:15 p.m., a caller reported graffiti on the front of 10 Brande Court.

Sunday, April 8

  • At 1:57 a.m., a man walked into the police station to report that a man assaulted him at his friend's house. His eye was swollen shut.
  • At 7:30 a.m., a caller reported a hit and run accident. Her car was hit on Hopkins Street and there is damage to the drivers side mirror.
  • At 9:20 a.m., a Curtis Street resident reported damage to his mailbox and fence. Police investigated and believe that it may have been a car that lost control as there were tire tracks leading up to the mailbox.
  • At 3:38 p.m., a caller reported a car accident on Wilson Street. No injuries were reported. 
  • At 10:50 p.m., a caller reported receiving harassing text messages. Police took her phone for evidence and are investigating. 

Monday, April 9

  • At 11:17 p.m., a Main Street resident reported a male urinating in front of her house. Police were unable to locate the male.
  • At 7:57 p.m., a Lakeview Avenue resident reported credit card fraud.
  • At 9:37 p.m., a caller reported a motor vehicle crash on Knollwood Road. No injuries were reported. A student driver was attempting to park and crashed into the porch of a house.
