Reading's Linda Snow Dockser Named 2020 Commonwealth Heroine

READING, MA — Reading resident Linda Snow Dockser was recently recognized as a 2020 Commonwealth Heroine. Dockser, a longtime School Committee member who is retiring this year, was nominated by Sen. Jason Lewis.
The annual Commonwealth Heroines celebration recognizes women from across the state who "perform unheralded acts daily that make our homes, neighborhoods, cities and towns better places to live." State legislators are responsible for recommending women within their districts for the honor.
Dockser helped to create Reading's Human Relations Advisory Committee and the group Reading Embraces Diversity. She also works with the Massachusetts Human Rights Coalition to the run the annual Human Rights Convening, a gathering of Human Rights Coalitions at the State House.

"While her time on the School Committee is over, Reading and all of Massachusetts will no doubt continue to benefit from her leadership and her commitment to building inclusive communities," the Massachusetts Commission on the Status of Women, which gives out the honor, wrote.
