Teen Summonsed for Transporting Alcohol Underage in North Reading

The following information was supplied by the North Reading police department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

The following is a look at some of the calls handled by the  from Friday through Sunday. The information is open to the public.

Friday, May 18

  • At 9:09 a.m., a caller reported that an elderly female's vehicle rolled into a ditch on Main Street. No injuries were reported and the car was towed from the scene.
  • At 1:17 p.m., a caller reported an erratic operator on Park Street. The caller said that the operator almost hit a car head on. Police located the vehicle and the driver, a 34-year-old Wakefield female, was summonsed for operating to endanger, a child under 5 years old without a car seat and failure to stay within marked lanes.
  • At 7:24 p.m., a caller reported two cars drag racing on Marblehead Street. The cars were gone when police arrived. 

Saturday, May 19

  • At 11:53 a.m., a resident reported an unwanted guest at his home. Police went to the resident's home and asked the guest to leave.
  • At 5:03 p.m., as the result of a motor vehicle stop, an 18-year-old North Reading male was summonsed on Park Street for transporting alcohol underage.
  • At 8:41 p.m., an officer reported that a bus at the was damaged. After watching the security video, it appeared that two young kids were around the buses.
  • At 9:55 p.m., a caller reported an angry female at her house. The caller stated that the female put dents in her house with a golf club. She said she didn't want to take any criminal action, but she doesn't want the female to return to her house. Police spoke with the female, who had a different story, and told her that the caller did not want her to return to the house.

Sunday, May 20

  • At 1:54 p.m., a caller reported that a car hit a telephone pole on Haverhill Street. The car was towed from the scene.
  • At 9:00 a.m., a Sunset Avenue resident reported that an object was thrown through her car's window overnight.
  • At 5:32 p.m., a Park Street resident reported that $650 was stolen from his home.
