Residents Report Car, Wallet Stolen in Separate Incidents

A sampling of calls handled by Reading Police Department in recent days.

The following information was compiled based on reports from the Reading Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Arrest

Following a traffic stop on Monday, Nov. 18, police arrested Kelli McGuirk, 22, of Reading, on an outstanding warrant.

Sunday, Nov. 17

  • At 2:53 a.m. a driver on Haverhill Street reported a hit and run on the rotary.
  • At 7:12 a.m. a Haven Street resident told police there was black soot all over her deck.
  • At 10:49 a.m. a Mt. Vernon Street resident said she has been hearing fireworks all morning.

  • At 7:33 a.m. a 69-year-old woman was unresponsive at a home and her daughter performed CPR until the ambulance arrived.
  • At 12:20 p.m. a Van Norden Road resident reported being threatened by an ex-roommate.
  • At 1:49 p.m. a caller from Jordan’s Furniture reported their wallet was taken and credit card used the previous day.
  • At 5:15 p.m. a resident came into the lobby to report a stolen 1979 brown Lincoln Towncar.
  • At 5:45 p.m. a suspicious man was reported in the area of Summer Ave.
  • At 8:39 p.m. sewage was backing up into an Elliot Street home basement.
  • At 10:54 p.m. a Summit Drive resident reported that she slapped her neighbor in the face.
