RMLD General Manager Coleen O'Brien To Retire

O'Brien will retire in June after more than 40 years in the utility industry.

READING, MA — Reading Municipal Light Department General Manager Coleen O'Brien announced her retirement on Friday, effective June 30.

O'Brien has served as general manager for close to nine years. Her tenure at the RMLD is the culmination of more than 40 years in the utility industry.

"Coleen has provided invaluable leadership during her time at the RMLD," said Robert Coulter, chair of the RMLD board of commissioners. "On behalf of the board, I would like to thank Coleen for her dedication and service to this utility and the people of this community. We wish her all the best in this exciting next chapter of her life."

The board has begun searching for a candidate to succeed O'Brien, who manages one of the largest municipal utilities in Massachusetts.
