Suspect Sought In Spate Of Overnight Car Break-Ins In Reading

Police said 15 break-ins were reported overnight Tuesday into Wednesday.

READING, MA — Police are seeking a suspect in connection with more than a dozen car break-ins in Reading.

Police said they received 15 reports of break-ins overnight Tuesday into Wednesday. Reports came from Green Street, Washington Street, Main Street, Park Avenue, Center Avenue, Crosby Road and Sweetser Avenue, police said.

Footage from a resident's Ring camera showed the suspect around 11:52 p.m., police said. Another video showed either the same suspect or another one around 1:05 a.m., police said.

"We also must take this time to remind everyone to please lock your vehicles," Reading police said in a statement. "These vehicles were all unlocked. They do not always look for valuables, then decide to break in. They are looking for unlocked vehicles first, then take whatever they can find."
