Two Arrested for Drug Possession

The following information was supplied by the North Reading police department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

The following is a look at some of the calls handled by the  from Wednesday through Thursday. The information is open to the public.

Arrests

At 3:25 p.m. on Wednesday in the parking lot, Gary Thibedeau, 48, of 4 School Hill Lane, was arrested for possession of a Class B substance and Gerald Delfano, 32, of 287 Chauncy St., in Mansfield, was arrested for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of liquor, speeding and possession of a Class B and Class E substance.

Wednesday, Jan. 4

  • At 7 a.m., a Park Street resident reported that someone stole her trash and trash barrel.
  • At 7:47 a.m., a Flash Road resident reported that while driving his daughter to school he swerved to avoid hitting a dog and struck a guardrail on Park Street.
  • At 8:35 a.m., a Marshall Street resident reported that her trash barrel was missing. 
  • At 9:54 a.m., a North Reading resident reported damage to the Stop & Shop building. Police are investigating.
  • At 11:17 a.m., an unknown caller reported a minor motor vehicle accident on Main Street.
  • At 2:50 p.m., two emergency callers reported that a truck drove into a utility pole on Winter Street. Reading Municipal Light Department was notified and they fixed the pole.
  • At 4:08 p.m., an Oak Knoll Avenue resident reported that his green wheeled trash barrel was stolen.
  • At 5:10 p.m., a Lowell Road resident reported that when he returned home from work, he noticed Tic Tacs and a brown jacket in his car that were not his. He also noticed that the driver's seat was moved.
  • At 5:36 p.m., a employee reported that a customer told her that a vehicle backed into hers and drove away. Police are investigating.

Thursday, Jan. 5

  • At 6:22 p.m., an unknown caller reported a car accident on Main Street.
