What to Expect at North Reading Fall Town Meeting
Fall Town Meeting is Monday, Oct. 1 at 7 p.m.

Community members will gather at the Daniel H. Shay Auditorium inside North Reading High School on Monday, October 1 at 7 p.m. for Town Meeting.
If you haven't registered to vote yet, you won't be able to participate in this year's Town Meeting. The deadline was Sept. 11.
There are 18 articles on the warrant. Warrants were mailed to residents' homes. Here are some items listed on the warrant that you may be interested in:

- Article 3 Amend FY2013 Operating Budget
Residents will be asked to vote to amend the FY2013 Operating Budget. The town would like to add money to the budget. Here are the proposed items and amounts:

- Article 9 Fund Town Road Survey Services
The town will be asked to vote on whether or not to fund the survey services relating to town roads. The surveys will cost $20,000.
- Article 11 Fund Building on the Common Parking lot expansion
The town will be asked to vote on whether or not to fund the Building on the Common parking lot expansion. The expansion will cost $5,000 and will create four new parking spaces.
- Article 12 Little School Retaining Wall Repair
The town will be asked to vote on whether or not to fund improvements or the reconstruction of the retaining wall at the Little School.
- Article 13 Improvements to Town Hall
The town will be asked to vote on whether or not to fund a sum of money to make improvements to Town Hall including improving air quality for Town Hall employees.
- Article 17 Amend Code- Add General Bylaw- Chapter 104, Article II - Local Fingerprint Submission Requirement for License Applicants
The town will be asked to vote on a local bylaw to enable police to conduct fingerprint based criminal history checks for applicants applying for positions such as a door-to-door sales person, a manager of a liquor license, an owner or operator of public conveyance, a hackney and livery driver or an ice cream truck vendor.
