- Today YMAA Boston will be hosting Boston Police Officer Elvis Garcia for a kids safety talk from 5-6 p.m. Officer Garcia will give tips on how to stay safe on a daily basis. This is a valuable opportunity for parents and kids to learn about practical safety for the city. Kids classes will be consolidated into one class. - Also today there will be an event at the Arnold Arboretum about Biodiversity 2013: Crisis and Opportunity at the Hunnewell Building. Free, but registration requested. 7-8:15 p.m.
- LinkedIn 101: Ever wondered how to use the website LinkedIn 101 to network and share your resume with prospective employers and clients? The Boston Public Library will offer a free class on setting up and managing a LinkedIn account today at 2:30 p.m. at the Central Library (700 Boylston St.).
- Today City Councilors Mike Ross and Ayanna Pressley are holding a public meeting regarding the Boston Residency Jobs Policy. City Hall. 3 p.m.
