  1. Tonight hear retired judge and RFK's Civil Rights Division lawyer Gordon Martin Jr. speak about voting progress and challenges of voting rights on at the Roslindale Library. 6:30 p.m.
  2. Also today at the Roslindale Library is Winter Crafts for Kids for free from 2-3 p.m. Children can get crafty with Michelle Brooks during this school vacation week program.
  3. Also today at the Franklin Park Golf Course Club House is a Boston ParkSCIENCE Children's Festival from 10 a.m. - noon. Free interactive science themed activities for participants to explore, observe, and learn in an exciting and fun environment. For kids 12 and younger. 
  4. Due to Presidents Day holiday, trash/recycling is delayed one day.
  5. Rozzie Reads Poetry Open Mic is on Thurs., 7-9 p.m. Select Cafe. 2 Belgrade Ave. Featured poets will be Tom Daley and Elizabeth Quinlan. Daley’s poetry has been published (or forthcoming) in Denver Quarterly, Massachusetts Review, Fence, Harvard Review, In Posse Review, Barrow Street, conte, Poetry Ireland Review, Rhino, and Diagram. Quinlan is the author of Promise Supermarket, a book of memoir poems: the first of a three part series.She is also a visual artist specializing in the Book and the Fabric Arts. She is a graduate of the Boston Museum of Fine Arts School, and UMass.
