5 Things: Roslindale Village Holiday Wander is Tonight

1. Tonight is the Roslindale Village Holiday Wander (click here for a full list of events, discounts, deals and more) with El Chavo's Fourth Annual Posada Navideña! A Mexican, and now a Roslindale tradition, is the nativity re-enactment of Joseph and Mary seeking lodging. Come dressed warm and ready to carol for "posada" or "shelter" around the square. There will be homemade tamales, champurrado, menudo and other Mexican goodies. The Mariachi Estrella de Boston band will also be helping carol along in Spanish. There will be a piñata for the kids at Romano's Pizzeria & Taqueria around 6:45 p.m., with it starting at El Chavo at 6 p.m. sharp.
2. Sebastian's is the Roslindale entry in the citywide Boston Main Streets' Deck the Windows contest. Vote for Sebastian's here - voting ends Dec. 18.
3. Also tonight, Minerva's Owl Boutique will host a performance of the Vadalna Tribal Dance company who will dance The Three Muses, in honor of the Winter Solstice. This is a free event. The Vadalna Tribal Dance company is founded by Roslindale resident, Naraya Ligouri. 7 p.m.
4. Also tonight, keep the winter lights glowing by joining the Friends of the Roslindale Branch Library for a performance by two Boston based singers. Indie-folk artist Clara Kebabian electric violin, guitar, loops and vocals; and American singer songwriter Thea Hopkins, with accompianist Andy Hollinger. 7:30 p.m. Roslindale Branch Library.
5. Enter your house in Patch's Deck the House contest to win $100,000 for the Boston Public Schools and $500 for your electricity bill.
