5 Things: Roslindale Village Main Street's Annual Meeting on Saturday
Tomorrow there will be a dedication ceremony for Roslindale's new public wind-driven art sculpture 'Traffic' by George Greenamyer and a live performance by Berklee College of Music's Interdisciplinary Arts Institute students.
- On Saturday is Roslindale Village Main Street's annual meeting - but this isn't your regular old meeting - it has a live music performance and more! Highlights include a dedication ceremony for Roslindale’s new public wind-driven art sculpture, "Traffic," by George Greenamyer and a live performance of a musical composition inspired by “Traffic” and written by Berklee College of Music’s Interdisciplinary Arts Institute students, Andrew Ikenberry and Jason Lim, using “found sound.” 1 p.m. St. Nectarios, 39 Belgrade Ave.
- Boston Public Schools announced a new student assignment plan. The new system will be implemented starting September 2014.
- Today is the deadline for signing up for the Jason Roberts Challenger League. The games are played in a relaxed environment at the Ohrenberger School in West Roxbury.
- Register now for Parkway Little League here, the season begins April 13... Also register now for the Parkway Girls Softball League. Registration deadline is March 17, same day as tryouts. .
- The Boston Flower & Garden Show started Wednesday and ends on Sunday. Concern for the environment and enthusiasm for home veggie production have planted “Seeds of Change” in New England’s gardens. This spectacular five-day event features over 20 gardens created by professional landscape designers, nurseries and historic properties embracing innovative new plants, materials and techniques that increase the beauty, bountiful harvest and ecological friendliness of gardens and outdoor spaces. $20 or cheaper.
