1. The 25th Annual Roslindale-West Roxbury Kiwanis Club Benefit Auction and Dinner takes tonight at the Irish Social Club on Park Street in West Roxbury. Net proceeds from this event help us to support local organizations such as children's programs at the West Roxbury-Roslindale YMCA, scholarships for graduating seniors through the Joseph P. Sullivan Scholarship Fund (via The Cooperative Bank), the Roslindale Food Pantry, as well as the American Diabetes Association and Juvenile Diabetes Association. $15. 6 p.m.
2. On Friday, the Boston Police District E-5 is hosting a Halloween party for kids from 5-8 p.m. Dress up in your favorite costume for a costume contest at the Roche Family Community Center. Clown, jugglers, entertainment and more. Free. Party is at both locations.
3. New England Aquarium Lecture: Dolphin Confidential: The Aquarium is hosting a lecture at 7 p.m. tonight with Dr. Maddalena Bearzi as she discusses her travels alongside dolphins and other sea creatures. Free.
4. Also today is Toddler Story Time at the Roslindale Library for children ages 5 and younger. 10:30 a.m. 4246 Washington St., Roslindale. Roslindale Library.
5. Also, enter the Patch Halloween Pet Costume contest.
