Announcing Third Thursdays in Roslindale!

No, not tonight - but next Thursday in Roslindale Village will be a special Third Thursday event.

Roslindale Village Main Street has sponsored and helped organize the Summer Stroll and the Holiday Wander, which brought in customers from the sidewalks with performances, special deals, drinks and food.

But coming up with four consecutive weeks of events is tough - thus enter the year long Third Thursday events.

Modeled after Jamaica Plain’s long-running First Thursday event, Roslindale’s Third Thursday will allow businesses in the Square to invite foot traffic.

Next week's first Third Thursday - April 18 - will be themed “Girl’s Night Out.” Businesses are hosting trunk-shows, demonstrations, food tastings, artist openings, and one-night-only discounts.

Discussions about Third Thursdays is ongoing and input from business owners and residents is sought by contact RVMS' office at 617-327-4065 or email director@roslindale.net.

Below is a list of participating businesses so far:

Birch Street Bistro - Blues in the Village with Common Ground. Starting at 8:30 p.m.

Birch St. House & Garden - Demonstrations for all-natural skin care line by Montana Emu Ranch and a candle/massage oil by Yuthica; plus 10% off all jewelry. 5-9 p.m.

Boston Cheese Cellar - Dips & Spreads tasting; purchase any of the featured dips/spreads and receive a 10% discount. Open until 8 p.m.

Fetysh Shoes - Ladies Night at Fetysh Shoes; receive 20% off your purchase; refreshments served. Open until 8 p.m.

Friends of Roslindale Branch Library - Rozzie Reads Poetry Open Mike @ Select Cafe. Featured Poet, Vin Dorio. 7-9 p.m. with 3-minute poetry

readings beginning at 7:45 p.m.

Joanne Rossman - TBD. Open until 8 p.m.

Minerva’s Owl Boutique – Trunk show featuring Wiredgems by Boston Jewelry Artisan, Dawna Davis. 5:30-8:30 p.m.

Redd’s in Rozzie - Ask for the Third Thursdays specialty cocktail.

Sarida - Trunk show TBD; sale on select goods. Open until 9 p.m.
