Lawyer for RFK's Civil Rights Division Speaking at Roslindale Library

Retired Judge Gordon Martin will speak on Wednesday about progress of voting and challenges of voting rights.

 

Retired judge and civil rights lawyer Gordon Martin Jr. will speak at the Roslindale Library about "The Right to Vote - Yesterday and Today" on Wednesday.

Martin Jr. is the author of "Count Them One By One: Black Mississippians Fighting for the Right to Vote", which will be available for sale.

Martin Jr. was a lawyer in Robert F. Kennedy's Civil Rights Division, and will be showing news footage from the 1960s. Discussion will focus on discussing voting progress and issues faced and being faced.

The event is a part of Black History Month and is free and open to the public starting at 6:30 p.m.
