Local Book Publisher Ruadán Books Calls for Writers
Writers looking to get paid professional rates for their work can now submit either original novels or short stories

With the Writers Guild of America Strike, the rise of the gig economy and lack of jobs in the sector, and the generative AI controversy, writers continue to face challenges in the current economy not only compromising their creative work but their financial livelihood. One local entrepreneur created a new publishing house to uncover, uplift, and amplify marginalized voices and bring new authors to bookshelves helping writers get paid professional rates for their work.
Ruadán Books (pronounced ROO-ah-dawn) is the new publishing house created by entrepreneur, author, and editor R.B. Its mission is to welcome new authors and inspire and tell unique stories from authors and writers worldwide. It is one outlet for writers to tell their stories and get paid for their work. Ruadán announces two open calls for writers – short stories and novel submissions. Writers can read the guidelines at Ruadán Books or via their Submission System.
For submissions for Spring in the City Ruadan is looking for short stories set in any city around the globe focusing on dark, speculative tales that explore what it means to be human in metropolitan enclaves when spring arrives and life starts to emerge.

The second call is for writers to submit novels. Ruadan publishes authors in a wide range of genres including fantasy, science, fiction, horror, crime and beyond. "Through Ruadán, we continue our mission to uncover, uplift, and amplify marginalized voices while bringing experienced authors to bookshelves.” Says founder R.B. Wood. If you are a writer in the dark speculative fiction and crime noir spaces, you are encouraged to submit your stories as we review all. Our goal is to not only uncover new talent, get writers paid for their talent but to also find and share unique tales that will enthrall audiences worldwide.”
