MBTA Stabbing Suspect in Roslindale Held for 20-Day Mental Health Evaluation

Gasner Jean will be at the Bridgewater State Hospital undergoing a 20-day mental health evaluation.

 

A judge ruled that the suspect who allegedly stabbed a person on an MBTA bus in Roslindale on Sunday be held for a 20-day mental health evaluation.

Jean was at the West Roxbury District Court today for an arraignment. After consultation with the court clinician, Judge Franco Gobourne ordered that Gasner Jean be held without bail on charges of armed assault with the intent to murder, and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, according to Jake Wark, spokesperson for the Suffolk County District Attorney's office.

Jean, 49, was ordered to undergo a 20-day mental health evaluation at Bridgewater State Hospital. 

Jean has been charged with stabbing a passenger on the 34E bus on Sunday afternoon.
