Photos: 1950s Family in Roslindale Parade!
What did you do on your 11th birthday? How about being in a parade?
I got this email from Jeff Koopman of Northbridge, Massachusetts, before Sunday's Roslindale Day Parade:
For my daughter's 11th birthday we will be travelling into Roslindale from Northbridge, a little over a hour west, to join the Roslindale Parade. My wife, myself, and our three children will be dressed in 1955 era clothing and will be in our 1955 Dodge Custom Royal. We are meeting other vehicles around 10:30 in the village prior to stepoff time. I share this activity As a birthday gift (she aways wanted to be in a parade) and we are period correct, it would be a nice photo for your reporters/paper and added bang for her. Attached is a photo of Ms Rose, our 55. Thank you! Jeff Koopman

After the parade Koopman emailed Roslindale Patch with more photos and more info.
We made it to the Roslindale Parade. I bit rainy during the hour commute down Rt 109 from Northbridge but the girls had a great time in the parade so it was worth it! It takes a long time to find the vintage and proper era clothing to replicate the car era, but I feel it helps people identify a bit more with the car as it rolls by....a sort of time machine!
