Roslindale Man Arrested for Allegedly Assaulting Roommate

The following article is based on a Boston Police report and where charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Boston Police charged a Roslindale man with allegedly assaulting his roommate after calling him some unkind words.

On July 29 around 9:16 p.m., Mark Paul Galonzka, of 550 Beech St., Roslindale, was arrested and charged with assault and battery, according to a Boston Police report.

Upon arrival police saw the male victim with swelling, bloody scratches and cuts about his face. He told police he had been drinking and that his roommate had attacked him, said he was going to kill him, and called him a word often used for a cat and a "scum bag," according to a Boston Police report. The victim said the suspect continued to instigate and would not let him sleep so he struck him in the face, and the roommates exchanged physical blows.

The suspect had no obvious injuries and appeared agitated and angry, and was also about seven inches taller and significantly outweighed the victim. The suspect was determined by police to be the "dominant aggressor" and was placed under arrest.

The victim was provided a printed copy of the Abuse Law and advised he could file a restraining order against the suspect. Boston EMS treated the victim, but he was not transported.

The duo have been roommates for about eight months.
