Roslindale Man Charged with Assault with Keys, Bottle and Threats

A Roslindale man was charged with assault by keys and a bottle, and was allegedly too intoxicated to be booked that Boston Police needed to wait until the morning.
On Jan. 20 around 11:38 p.m., Lazaro I. Guerrero, of 36 Granfield Ave. 1R, Roslindale, was arrested and charged with assault by means of keys and bottle, threats, and was given a city violation for carrying a prohibited knife.

Police were called to Granfield Avenue for a report of a man with a knife, and were met by the victim, according to a Boston Police report. The victim said she was being harrassed by her boyfriend, and that police had previously been there recently.
The victim said the suspect was last scene in the back of the apartment building allegedly yelling insults and threats at the victim, according to a Boston Police report. The victim said the suspect had thrown his keys at her and a Febreeze bottle earlier in the night.

Police escorted the victim into the apartment to ensure her safety. While outside the residence, police met the suspect, who appeared unstable, was swaying his body from side to side, and was slow to respond to officers questions. A patfrisk of the suspect revealed a knife exceeding 2.5 inches, illegal in Boston.
The suspect was arrested, but could not be booked until the following morning due to extreme intoxication and non-compliance by the suspect, according to a Boston Police report.
