BFD spokesperson Steve MacDonald said there had been numerous false fire alarms pulled in the area in recent weeks. And each time that caused Boston Fire units to be dispatched falsely and search for a fire.
Thus the Boston Fire Department's Surveillance Unit staked out the area and allegedly saw the two boys pull the alarm this afternoon.
