Beverly, Salem Water Woes Causing Foul Odor, Taste
The Salem and Beverly Water Supply Board said it is working to address the issues in both cities.
BEVERLY, MA — Water woes causing a strange odor and taste for Beverly and Salem residents could be the result of high demand and recent hot weather, according to the Salem and Beverly Water Supply Board.
The Board said it is aware of the water issues and investigating resident concerns about them.
"There are several factors that could be affecting the water, including the recent heat wave in our area, and increased water demand," the Board said in a statement "The Water Board has completed water sample testing within the Salem and Beverly distribution systems. Those water tests do not indicate any issues with bacteria and the disinfection levels are consistent with past testing."
