SALEM, MA — Stacia Kraft, a parent who called on the school committee to take a vote of no confidence in Salem Mayor Kim Driscoll and former superintendent Margarita Ruiz earlier this year, is mounting a write-in campaign for Salem City Council. Kraft is challenging Ward 2 City Councilor Christine Madore, who was previously running unopposed for re-election.

Kraft's write-in campaign was first reported by Salem First Coalition, which is also reporting that Maribel Steadman has abandoned plans to run a write-in campaign for at-large city councilor. Steadman missed making the ballot for the Nov. 5 general election by 436 votes in last month's preliminary election.
