Clean Salem, Green Salem Events Planned

Salem, MA - The city is planning several events over the coming weeks to help make Salem a cleaner and greener place.

Clean Sweeps Day, 8:30am-11:30am

The City of Salem Beautification Committee will hold its annual Clean Sweeps Day as part of Clean Salem, Green Salem on Saturday, May 7 from 8:30 a.m.until 11:30 a.m. Volunteers are welcome to meet our team leaders at Lafayette Park the morning of the May 2. If you want to organize a group to help clean up another location, please give us a call. All volunteers are invited to the Salem Common for a thank you pizza party at noon. Swap and Drop, 10am-12:30pm

Clean out your closets! Bring men’s, women’s and children’s clothing, accessories, small household items (in working condition) to SalemRecycles annual “Swap and Drop” on Salem Common, Saturday May 7. This event is part of the Clean Salem, Green Salem initiative. This year there will also be a Reusable Bag Swap. Recycle That will have a truck onsite and take all leftovers. If you choose not to “swap”, you can just drop off at the truck. Plastic bags will be also collected for recycling.
