Owl Found In Salem Getting Treatment

The injured screech owl, "Hoo," found in Salem on Sunday is being treated at the Tufts Wildlife Clinic.

SALEM, MA – Veterinarians at Tufts Wildlife Clinic at Cummings Veterinary Center at Tufts University determined that the owl found in Forest River Park last Sunday has sustained head and eye trauma.

The vets are treating and monitoring the screech owl, according to a statement from Clinic Director Dr. Florina Tseng, and will do a more in-depth evaluation to check for secondary injuries.

Julianna Tache was walking through Forest River Park when her dog – Copper Daniel – led her toward a ball of fur or feathers, looking concerned. Tache, an animal lover, said it was horrifying to find the injured owl.
