Late to School for Some Salem Students

Salem schools have been struggling with bus delays since school started.

Some Salem kids were stuck at the bus stop recently after a problem with the Salem schools bus schedule.

According to the Salem News, last week’s opening was worse than usual, triggering lots of complaints from parents, according to school officials.

On Friday, Superintendent Stephen Russell went on the School Department’s Facebook page to address those concerns.

“... Unfortunately, as many of you know from firsthand experience, we’ve been having difficulty with some of our afternoon bus runs being quite late,” he stated. “Please accept my/our sincere apologies for these problems. They have our full attention and we are working hard to correct them.”

A Collins administrator confirmed to the Salem News that some buses were as much as 45 minutes late arriving at the school in the afternoons.
