Man Drinks Hotel Coffee, Eats Danish, Issued No Trespass Order

The following is an excerpt from the Salem Police Department log:
Tuesday, Sep. 27
- At 5:43 p.m. Police, Fire and the Building Inspector responded to a Harbor Street address for a cieling collapse.
- At 9:47 p.m. a "loud bang" was reported on Canal Street. Police did not locate the source.

- At 6:56 a.m. a Carol Way resident reported their car tire and rim had been stolen.
- At 7:40 a.m. a resident of Allen Street reported she went to her car and found the two back tires had been flattened overnight and there was a thick liquid across her car.
- At 8:59 a.m. a man told police had stolen his money.
- At 10:53 a.m. Animal Control responded to Loring Avenue for a black lab wandering in and out of traffic. The dog was brought back to its owner.
- At 1:04 p.m. a vehicle struck a pole on the side of at Highland Avenue and Marlborough Road. According to police, the party was entering the lot and mistakenly hit the gas instead of the brake. There was no damage to the building or pole. The driver's car sustained moderate front end damage. The driver was transported to the hospital as a precaution.
- Police responded to the at 1:50 p.m. for an unwanted party. According to hotel staff, there is a man who comes into the hotel regularly under the guise he is looking for a job but instead, hangs out drinking coffee and eating Danish put out for guests. When the hotel manager asked the man to leave, he berated her and threatened a lawsuit for discrimination. Police caught up with the man at where he was filing a complaint. The man was escorted from City Hall and issued a no trespassing order. The hotel staff told police the man was treated with respect when he was asked to leave their private property. According to police, "the man appeared to be litigious and he complained about the respectful way he was treated by the officer as well." Police advised him to file his complaints at
- At 2:23 p.m. a resident of Japonica Avenue told police she was missing $300 from her piggy bank.
- At 4:48 p.m. Police and Fire responded to a microwave fire on Dunlap Street.
The following people were arrested:
- Michael Joseph Foley, 20, homeless, was arrested and charged with tresspassing and possessing or carrying liquor while under 21.
- Robert Elmer Uzdavinis III, 30, 14 Lathrop St., was arrested and charged with tresspassing.Â
