Mercy Tavern To Open Friday At Former In a Pig's Eye Spot

Mercy Tavern, the new bar and restaurant at the site of the former In a Pig's Eye, is set to open on Friday.

SALEM, MA – The new business at the site of the former In a Pig's Eye is set to open on Friday with a bang – or rather, a blues jam.

Mercy Tavern, named in part as a nod to mercy's continuing role in blues and soul music, is expected to open on Friday, April 7, at 11:30 a.m. for lunch. The bar and restaurant will also hold a blues jam starting at 4 p.m. on the same day, which is expected to be a weekly event.

According to a post on its Facebook page, Mercy Tavern will feature a gastropub style menu with an eye to comfort food. While the menus will evolve over time, customers can look forward to French onion soup, fried chicken, spaghetti and meatballs, and more.
