Multiple Car Accidents Over Weekend

The following is an excerpt from the Salem Police log:
Thursday, Sep. 22
-  At 4:30 p.m. police responded to  at 31 Bridge Street for a report of larceny. A man told police he had gone into the store for approximately three minutes. While he was in the store, the man told police someone had gone into his car and taken his wallet and a $5 bill.
- At 5:15 p.m. police moved a disruptive person from the Farmers' Market.
- At 5:49 p.m. police responded to a Boston Street home where a woman told police someone had spray painted the word "VAD" on the back of her vehicle the week before.
- At 5:56 p.m. a mother and father told police a group of juveniles had assaulted their son the week before while he walked home along Lafayette Street. According to the parents, their son fell and struck his head on the pavement and suffered a concusion. Police are investigating the situation with the help of the school resource officer.
- At 7:16 p.m. police responded to a noise complaint on Buffum Street. The noise was coming from a loud television.
- At 11:15 p.m. police responded to a loudy party on Leach Street. The party was ended by police.
- At 11:22 p.m. police responded to North Street for a report of a suspicious person asking for money. Police sent the man on his way.
- At 11:31 p.m. Salem detectives investigated the assault of two court officers by pisioners. According to police, two prisinors punched and threw a chair at the officers.

- Â At 12:18 p.m. police received a report of a group of people in the street, not moving, on Lafayette Street.
- At 12:19 p.m. police responded to Buffum Street for an alarm going off. The alarm was coming from a smoke detector in a dumpster.
- One person was taken to the hospital with minor injuries after an accident on Lafayette Street at 1:43 a.m. The driver was later arrested at the hospital for driving while under the influence of alcohol.
- At 1:50 a.m. police responded to an accident at Federal and North streets. One vehicle had crashed into a tree and the occupants fled before police arrived. Warrants have been issued for three men - two from Danvers and one from Beverly - for receiving a stolen motor vehicle among other charges.
- At 2:57 a.m. police responded to a head-on collision on Bridge Street. Travis Duclow was arrested and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol, negligent driving and marked lanes violation. No one was injured in the accident.
- At 11:10 a.m.  owners said someone had broken into the business and removed a shampoo machine valued at $200.
- At 6:19 p.m. a resident of Essex Street reported her vehicle stolen. The resident said she had parked her car in the back parking lot of 314 Essex Street. The car was later found.
- At 8:05 p.m. police responded to a past assault on Washington Street. One of the drivers of a delivery business was followed into a parking lot where a woman got out of a car and began banging on the glass of the delivery vehicle's car. The man got out of the vehicle and the woman who was previously following him, began punching him. The man did not know the woman.
- At 11:45 p.m. police responded to a domestic dispute on Harbor Street. As a result, Dontei Young was charged with attemped murder (stragulation), threat to commit a crime (murder), intimidation of a witness, domestic assault and battery and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (shod foot).
Saturday, Sep. 24
- Â At 12:19 a.m. a party was observing kicking cars at Donuts on Washington Street.
- At 1:27 a.m. a car crashed into a pole on Highland Avenue at Wilson Street. The pole was snapped in half upon impact. One man was charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol after testing .18 and .19 on a breathalyzer, operating to endanger, marked lanes violation and speeding.
- At 5:42 a.m. police responded to Bridge Street for a car into a pothole.
- At 6:27 a.m. police responded to Bridge Street for a car into a sinkhole.
- At 12:17 p.m. a resident of Roslyn Street reported to police she was having a yard sale and was concerned her neighbor would be shooting bb and pellet guns in the area as has happened in the past. She was concerned someone at the yard sale could be injured. Police spoke with the nieghbor who told them there would be no problem.
- Â At 1:47 p.m. a vehicle was taking a left on to Highland Avenue from Marlborough Road when it failed to straighten out and struck a pole on Highland Avenue. There were no injuries or citations.
