North Shore 'Breakfast To Heal' Aims To Fight Against Domestic Abuse
The Salem-based Healing Abuse Working for Change is holding the event and awards presentation at Danversport on Oct. 3.
SALEM, MA — The annual Breakfast to Heal that brings together community members, supporters and survivors of domestic abuse for a morning of recognition, inspiration and solidarity against abuse is set for Oct. 3 at Danversport.
The Salem-based Healing Abuse Working for Change is hosting the breakfast where it will present its prestigious Community Award to The Women's Fund of Essex County. This award recognizes an organization whose exceptional dedication and impact have significantly advanced the cause of ending abuse and supporting survivors in the community.
HAWC said Women's Fund of Essex County Co-Chairs Trish Moore and Wendy Roworth have "demonstrated unwavering commitment, remarkable leadership, and tangible results in fostering a safer and more supportive environment for all."

The Dale Orlando Memorial Award will be presented to Megan Sweeney, founder of PowerUP! This accolade honors an individual whose personal efforts have made a profound difference in the lives of survivors and the broader community.
"Megan has shown extraordinary compassion, innovative problem-solving, and steadfast resolve in addressing the complexities of abuse," HAWC said.

The event will also feature a powerful keynote address from a courageous survivor whose journey from victim to advocate is inspiring. The event runs from 7 to 9 a.m. at Danversport at 161 Elliott Street with tickets available here.
