OUI Charge for Driver Who Hit Pole in Front of Police Station

A Salem woman faces drunk driving charge after an accident in front of the police station early Tuesday morning.

Salem, MA - It's never a good thing to drink and drive. It's even less of a good thing if you allegedly drink and drive and then hit a telephone pole right in front of the local police station.

Police officers didn't have to travel far shortly before 1:30 a.m. on Tuesday when a Salem woman allegedly drove into a telephone pole in front of the police station at 95 Margin Street.

According to police, Christina E. Monty, 30, of 57 Cavendish Circle in Salem was driving a Toyota FJ Cruiser on Margin Street heading toward Jefferson Avenue when she crossed over the yellow line and hit a telephone pole in front of the police station.
