Local and regional vendors will be selling prepared ethnic cuisine, fresh produce, clothing and gifts, plus there will be music and shoppers can participate in a collaborative visual art project.
“The market is a chance for us to highlight some of the best goods offered by local vendors in the Point, and to also provide access to goods not readily available in the neighborhood while meeting the needs of local residents,” Mickey Northcutt, CEO of North Shore Community Development Coalition, said in a prepared announcement about the market.

There will be more than eight vendors selling local cuisine, fresh produce and other goods. The entertainment will be by an DJ, a local magician and an art project led by Salem artist Miguel Cruz, who is a member of the newly-formed Salem Art Commission.
The market is a part of ongoing efforts to study the retail market and redevelopment potential of the Point neighborhood as part of a forthcoming Salem Point Neighborhood Commercial Corridors Revitalization Plan.
“The Point neighborhood is rich in diversity and is home to over 60 remarkable shops and retailers,” said Salem Mayor Kim Driscoll in the announcement about the market. “This market is a great way for our community to highlight the vibrancy of this historic waterfront neighborhood and the variety of retail opportunities it offers for residents and visitors alike.”
