Weather Service Lifts Its Potential Noreaster Advisory

The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook Tuesday through Sunday.

UPDATE: As of 9:30 a.m. the National Weather Service lifted its advisory.

A hazardous weather outlook has been issued for much of southern New England, including Salem, starting today, Tuesday, Jan. 10.

The outlook states there is a probability of accumulating snow in portions of interior southern New England late Wednesday night into Thursday.

However, the NWS said "uncertainty lies on whether or not it will be cold enough for accumulating snow or mainly just cold rain."

A wind advisory may also be needed on Wednesday night near the coast.

Current weather forecasts show Wednesday night with a low near 33 degrees, and Thursday's highs reaching up to 39 degrees.
