Find out where to find live music, beer garden, parties and fireworks on Halloween in Salem, plus the final departure time for the MBTA.

The monthlong Haunted Happenings celebration ends on Friday with on Halloween night. Below, find quick information about visitors and residents about getting in and out of the city plus entertainments and parties scheduled for the afternoon and evening.
Street Closures: 4-11:30 p.m. on Halloween - Washington Street between New Derby and Bridge streets, Essex Street from Barton Square to Union Street, Derby Street between Lafayette and Union streets, Brown Street at New Liberty Street, Lafayette St. between Derby and Front streets, Hawthorne Boulevard between Derby and Essex streets, Washington Square West between Essex and Brown streets, Washington Square South, Washington Square North between Brown and Winter streets, Winter Street closed to inbound traffic at Bridge Street, Williams Street at Bridge Street, Congress Street at South Harbor Garage with vehicles detoured to Pickering Way and out to Derby Street, Derby Street closed to inbound traffic at Wharf Street and vehicles detoured out to Congress Street, Front, Charter and Central streets all entirely closed to traffic and Federal Street between St. Peters and North streets.
10-11:30 p.m. on Halloween - Bridge Street between the westerly ramps to North Street and the Bypass Road with northbound traffic on Bridge Street detoured up the west ramps to North Street. Inbound traffic on the Bypass Road from Beverly will be diverted back to Bridge Street. Incoming southbound traffic on Bridge Street from Beverly will be diverted to the Bypass Road. Franklin Street may also be closed, if necessary.

Amplified Sound: There is a ban on amplified sound along Essex Street, between Barton Square and Hawthorne Boulevard, from 2-5 p.m. on Halloween.
Fines: Alcohol is prohibited in public places and fines for violations are triple in October.

Free Concerts: There are plenty of free events in Salem on Halloween, including the Radio 929 Main Stage on Washington Street with Dan Masterson from 5-5:45 p.m., Ross Livermore Band from 6-6:45 p.m., Arms and Ears from 7-7:45 p.m. and Spike the Punch from 8-10:15 p.m. On Salem Common, Studio Two, a Beatles Tribute band, will play from 7-10 p.m. To My Band will play on Hawthorne Boulevard from 7-10 p.m. and Undercover Band will also play from 7-10 p.m. on Front Street
Carnival: The Fiesta Shows Carnival, with rides that include “Fireball,” “Seven Seas” and a ferris wheel, will be open on Derby Street from 3-9 p.m.
Parties: There will be various Halloween parties, with varying admission charges, at several locations, including the VFW, Gulu-Gulu Cafe, Rockafellas, Opus, Ames Memorial Hall and Moose Lodge.
Beer Garden: The Shock Top Beer Garden will be open from 4-10 p.m. at Federal and Washington streets. It is 21 plus.
Parking: Parking will be difficult in Salem on Halloween. If possible, organizers encourage visitors to come and go on the MBTA commuter rail or Salem Ferry. If you do drive, be prepared for significant delays and see a list of planned road closures above.
New MBTA Garage: The new parking garage at the MBTA station will be closed from 8 p.m. on Friday through 1 a.m. on Saturday. No cars will be allowed to enter or exit the garage during that time.
MBTA Trains: The MBTA will add additional commuter rail trains to and from Salem on Halloween. The final train will leave Salem for Boston at 11:05 p.m. The final train north toward Beverly, and beyond, will leave Salem at 11:25 p.m. on the Rockport line. On the Newburyport line, the final northbound train leaves at 11:45 p.m.
Fireworks: The fireworks start at 10:15 over the North River. When the fireworks end, the party is over. Police and the DPW will start clearing downtown city streets at 10:30 p.m.
