A beloved Salem restaurant is the latest local eatery to fall victim to the coronavirus. Scratch Kitchen, which opened in 2011, said Monday it had closed.
"It has come with a lot of hard thinking and was not an easy decision but we will be closing Scratch Kitchen," the restaurant said in a Facebook post Monday. "We will miss you and hope you are doing well during this period of time."

The woman did not respond to pleas from the officers, according to Beverly police department news release, and continued to inch towards the edge of the bridge. Officers Ryan Hegarty and Justin Shairs grabbed the 53-year-old Beverly woman and pulled her to safety.
During the October arrest, Peabody police seized 3.5 pound of marijuana from the car. During a search of the couples' home, they recovered items used in making and selling marijuana and THC-infused edibles. They also recovered more marijuana, THC vaping devices, pharmaceutical drugs, hallucinogenic mushrooms and an unspecified amount of money.
